History

Emmeline Zirco founded ZIRCO BIOLOGIKA in 1926 in Strasbourg, France after seeing the decline of her favourite species of bird. She built the company from the ground up with drive, focus and passion vowing to establish the company as a world-leader in its field, which it now is.

The woman at the helm now is CEO Helena Kimmich, who brings an exceptional level of enthusiasm, dedication, and nuanced perspective that makes ZIRCO BIOLOGIKA a competitive and world-leading research facility.

CEO

Helena Kimmich

Joining ZIRCO BIOLOGIKA in 2005, Helena has been integral in backing pioneering research into anti-viral medication through her sheer drive and determination. Graduating in 1993 at the age of 20 with a double-first class degree from the University of Oxford, Helena has always been an ambitious and single-minded individual. Helena has hands-on experience with how technology affects the modern pharmaceutical industry. Staying ahead of the frequent changes to the industry is second-nature to Helena.

Chief Operating Officer

Karina Collier

As Chief Operating Officer, Karina is responsible for ensuring the global operations of ZIRCO BIOLOGIKA run smoothly, working closely with the CEO and Chief Scientist to ensure that the ambitious vision of the company is delivered.

Over 25 years of experience at the company, Karina began as a technical apprentice at the San Francisco laboratory, working her way into one of the top positions at the company.

Aryanna Curie

Like her namesake, Ms Curie is a dedicated and academically brilliant scientist with a passion for delivering pioneering healthcare to all animals. She has spent her ZIRCO BIOLOGIKA career at many of our different sites, now overseeing the direction of the research, working closely with the Research and Development Director to deliver our vision.
